Daniel T. Gahlman

Mr. Gahlman is the Director of Risk Management Services for Diversified Insurance Solutions.  Dan joined Diversified in 2010 to expand the Risk Management services provided to Diversified’s clients.

Dan has over 15 years of industry experience in risk, safety, quality assurance, loss control and risk engineering consulting services.  His expertise in improving client risk profiles consists of a proactive risk analysis process including safety and loss control program development, OSHA compliance assistance and construction and fleet safety risk management programs.   His broad Risk Management experience spans across a broad spectrum of industry segments in both middle market and large national accounts.

Prior to Diversified, Dan was a Senior Risk Engineer Consultant with Zurich Insurance, one of the largest insurance carriers in the United States.  He specialized in large, national food processing accounts with large property concentrations.

Dan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with degrees in Occupational Safety and Education.  He earned his Certified Safety Professional designation in 2004, is a Professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals and holds the Associate in Risk Management, Management Liability Insurance Specialist, Associate in Insurance Services and Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist designations.

Dan is an accomplished hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.

Crystal Benson
Claims Consultant

Ms. Benson joined the Risk Management Department of Diversified in June of 2012.  As Claims Consultant, Crystal will serve Diversified clients in a day-to-day claims management role. 

Ms. Benson’s claims advocacy position includes claims reserve management, experience modifier management, work hardening and early return to work programs.  Crystal will monitor and negotiate large, complex Property, Liability and Workers’ Compensation claims with insurance company and independent claims adjusters.  As a client advocate, she will also assist with information exchange between the contractors or Occupational Medicine teams, insurance adjusters, employee claimants and the client contacts.  This daily claims management provides tighter reserves control, more proactive reputational risk management with all affected parties and, in the case of a workers’ compensation claim, earlier return to work and expense reductions.

Prior to joining Diversified Insurance Solutions, Crystal was a Financial Analyst and Claims Processor for a national insurance company.  She was an integral part in compiling, analyzing and controlling company finances, expenses, budgeting and trend exploration.  Crystal demonstrates a high level of customer service philosophy and connects the client’s need with solutions only found through detailed trend analysis.

Crystal has an Associate Degree in Marketing from Waukesha Area Technical College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University.  She and her husband, John, reside in Hartland where she enjoys cooking, reading, running, and kickboxing.


Roland (Ben) Sieg

Roland (Ben) Sieg has joined Diversified Insurance Solutions to provide the Risk Management Services Department special expertise in industrial hygiene.  Ben will assist with the identification and reduction of clients exposures associated with potentially hazardous airborne chemicals, noise and indoor air quality. 

Prior to Ben’s current position, he was a Risk Engineer Consultant with Zurich Insurance, one of the largest insurance carriers in the United States.  Ben brings an extensive background in safety and health loss control with a proven ability to analyze problems, develop cost effective solutions, and consult effectively with management and staff at all levels.  For over 25 years, Ben has excelled in the evaluation of exposures and controls for a broad range of industries/operations which include: manufacturing, construction, service/hospitality, education, retail and commercial fleets. 

Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and later completed his master’s degree in Occupational Safety from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.    In addition, Ben holds a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.  His most  current experience is as an Industrial Hygiene/Biosafety Technician for the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
